Tension increased in Bangladesh after the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, and protests began in support of the Hindu community. He was arrested at Dhaka airport on charges of treason. During this period, violence broke out in Chittagong and Rangpur, after which the court on Tuesday rejected his bail plea and sent him to jail. During the hearing in the court, it was reported that three cases have been registered and 33 persons have been arrested.
ISKCON moves towards High Court
The High Court refused to pass a suo moto order as the government informed that it would take necessary steps on the matter. During this, the court directed the government to ensure the safety of religious minorities and public property. The Attorney General directed the government to give detailed information to the court regarding the activities and violence of ISKCON. He expressed hope that the government would remain vigilant in maintaining religious tolerance.

ISKCON spokesperson Charu Chandra Das said on Chinmay Das’s case that he is not the spokesperson of ISKCON Bangladesh. His comments are personal opinions and do not represent the official position of ISKCON. ISKCON is preparing to file a bail petition for Chinmay Das in the High Court. The petition demands not to ban ISKCON and impose emergency to stop violence in Chittagong and Rangpur.
