Syria shaken by Israeli attack! After 12 years, such an air strike caused a strong earthquake

Israel Syria war: Israel carried out its biggest air attack ever on the city of Tartus in northwestern Syria. Due to this attack, earthquake-like tremors were felt in the entire area, the intensity of which was measured at 3 on the Richter scale. Due to the massive explosion, a mushroom-shaped fireball arose, causing massive destruction in the area. This attack took place in the area where the Russian Navy base is located, which makes this incident even more sensitive.

According to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israeli forces targeted Syrian army weapons and explosives warehouses. Stockpiles of surface-to-surface missiles and air defense units were destroyed in Israeli attacks. This is being said to be the biggest attack in this area since 2012. This Israeli attack was not limited to the Syrian coastal areas. According to reports, weapons depots in Damascus, Homs, Deraa, Suwayda and Qalamoun mountains were also attacked.

The explosions continued for 30 minutes
During the attack, sounds of loud explosions continued to echo for about 30 minutes. Apart from the coastal areas, Israeli warplanes also bombed the military airport of Deir al-Zour and several targets in the rural areas of Damascus. Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli army also targeted Hama airport and surrounding warehouses.

Violation of the UN buffer zone
Israeli troops entered the UN-monitored buffer zone that separates Israeli and Syrian forces on the Golan Heights. The United Nations described this action as a violation of the 1974 ceasefire agreement.

HTS warning and Syria’s response
Reacting to this development, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) leader Ahmed al-Shara criticized Israel. He said that Israel can no longer justify these attacks. However, he also said that Syria does not want to get entangled in any new conflict at the moment.

Instability continues in Syria
Israel has so far carried out more than 300 attacks in Syria. These attacks are aimed at weakening Syria’s military capabilities, especially since Russia intervened under the leadership of Bashar al-Assad. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also targeted Iran in this entire incident. He said that Israel will take every possible step to eliminate Iran’s influence.
