Surya’s strong half-century, Mumbai set the target of 193 runs for Punjab

PBKS vs MI: After losing the toss, Mumbai Indians have scored 192 runs in the match against Punjab Kings. Shikhar Dhawan was not playing in this match due to injury, hence Punjab was captained by Sam Curran. The start was not good for MI as Ishan Kishan returned to the pavilion after scoring only 8 runs. After that, the 81-run partnership between Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav put Mumbai on the front foot. Rohit scored 36 runs in 25 balls and his innings also included 2 sixes and 3 fours. Suryakumar scored the most runs for MI, scoring 78 runs in 53 balls. He hit 7 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. With this, now Punjab Kings will have to score 193 runs to win.

Mumbai Indians batsmen started gaining momentum especially after the 14th over. After the end of 14 overs, the team’s score was 115 runs for 2 wickets. In the next 3 overs, Team Mumbai’s batsmen had scored 41 runs, due to which the team’s score reached 156 after the 17th over. Although Suryakumar Yadav lost his wicket in the 17th over, Tim David’s storm was yet to come. Tilak Verma had also adopted an aggressive stance from the other end. Tim David scored 14 runs in his 7-ball cameo innings, which included 1 six and 2 fours. Tilka Verma played an unbeaten inning of 34 runs in 18 balls and made an important contribution in taking the team to the score of 192 runs. Mumbai scored 77 runs in the last 6 overs.

Punjab’s bowling condition

There was very tight bowling from Punjab in the middle overs. But in the powerplay and last 5 overs, Punjab Kings bowlers gave away a lot of runs. Kagiso Rabada took 1 wicket but also gave away 42 runs in 4 overs. Captain Sam Curran did take 2 wickets, but gave away 41 runs. Meanwhile, Harshal Patel took 3 wickets and his economy rate was also very good. Harpreet Brar used the magic of spin like every time, but could not send any batsman to the pavilion. On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh also proved to be very expensive.
