‘State had some inputs…’, SC lifts ban on film The Kerala Story in Bengal, says TMS

TMC Leader On The Kerala Story: The film ‘The Kerala Story’ was banned by the West Bengal government. After this, while hearing the matter, the Supreme Court lifted the ban and termed the ban as baseless. The court also said in its comment that the cinema hall showing this film should be given security. Also, no pressure should be made on the theater owners from the government side.

After this decision of the Supreme Court, many leaders of West Bengal have given their opinion on this. West Bengal Minister Shashi Panja said that the court has given its verdict, after that she will tell what action the Chief Minister will take. Regarding the film The Kerala Story, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee said that the state had some inputs, so it was decided. Now the Supreme Court has said that the decision of the court is respected.

TMC minister Panja gave his response
After the ban on the film The Kerala Story was lifted by the Supreme Court, TMC Minister Shashi Panja, while giving his reaction, said that after the court has given its opinion, what action will CM Mamta take? Will tell right there, his intention was not to hurt any community. If any community feels hurt and reacts, causing law and order situation to deteriorate, they will take cognizance of it.

The Supreme Court has also asked the producers of the film to put a new disclaimer. It should be said in this that the figure of 32000 missing girls is not confirmed. The court has asked to put up this new disclaimer by 5 pm on May 20.

“West Bengal is no different from other parts of the country”
A few days earlier, when asked why the film was banned, TMC leader Vishwajit Deb said, “If anything happens, who will take responsibility? It is the duty of the state to ensure that everyone is protected. There is no law and order problem.” No. It was a preventive measure.”

‘The Kerala Story’ released nationwide on 6 May. The film is also doing consistently well at the box office, but on May 8, the West Bengal government banned the film, fearing that the law and order situation in the state would worsen. Describing the state government’s claim as baseless on Thursday (May 18), the Supreme Court lifted the ban.

Hearing the petitions, the CJI said that the film is running in other parts of the country, why can’t it be released in West Bengal? The court said, “West Bengal is no different from other parts of the country.”
