According to an NDTV report, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said, “Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Rae Bareli because it has been my mother’s (Sonia Gandhi) constituency. Kishori Lal Sharma from Amethi is a very good candidate, who has been contesting only from Amethi for 40 years. I feel very good that I am campaigning for them.
Priyanka Gandhi said, “Kishori Lal Sharma has worked with me in Amethi since 1999. I have learned the conduct of elections and the nuances of elections only from him. If we fight all the elections, then we need someone to fight them. BJP has to become a pointless issue for everything.”
What did you say on PM Modi’s statement about America?
On PM Modi’s statement targeting Rahul Gandhi over Sam Pitroda’s controversial remarks, Priyanka Gandhi said, “Someone is sitting far away in America… He said something wrong… This is what is being discussed.” As if I don’t know who is doing it.” On the mention of Pakistan during the election campaign, the Congress General Secretary said, “Elections are in India and PM Modi is talking about Pakistan.”
Controversy arose over a comment by Congress leader Sam Pitroda, in which he said that people from East India look like Chinese and South Indians look like Africans, after which BJP made it an election issue. Calling these comments racist, PM Modi said that people will not tolerate attempts to insult countrymen on the basis of skin colour.
