Technology is changing with time. Earlier, the tasks which used to take hours or days to complete, are now being completed in just a few seconds or minutes. Technology has made life easier for all of us. Meanwhile, a good news related to the field of technology is coming out. Actually, MIT’s researchers have prepared an ultrathin and ultralight solar cell. That is, engineers have discovered a very light and thin solar cell. This solar cell can be used on any surface. The surface on which the solar cell is mounted will turn into a power source. That is, if you put this solar cell on clothes, then your clothes will start generating electricity.
Technology developed like this
To develop this solar cell thinner than a hair, researchers have used nanomaterial in printable electronic ink to make a novel solar cell device. Lead author of the research paper, Vladimir Bulović, said that our current version of lightweight photovoltaics (PV) is not as good as silicon PVs. But their weight is very less. He said that these power cells will not be used to replace conventional silicon PVS, but lightweight photovoltaic cells will be used where these do not work. Let us tell you that the thickness of this printed module (solar cell) is only 15 microns while the thickness of human hair is up to 70 microns. That is, this solar cell is so thin that it can be easily installed anywhere.
For example, if it is installed on top of a tent in marriage, then the whole tent will provide you electricity. As soon as sunlight falls on these solar cells, they will be charged and will provide you electricity again. Being extremely thin, there is a danger of them breaking. To overcome this problem, researchers have used a special fabric known as Dyneema. Currently researchers are working on this material. If these cells work well on this in the coming time, then they can be used in clothes etc.
