Jammu Kashmir News: National Conference (NC) President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has shown signs of leniency with the Central Government. He described cooperation between the Center and the Jammu and Kashmir government as necessary for development. Farooq Abdullah was talking to the media in Jammu on Thursday.
While giving advice to both the governments, he said that instead of getting embroiled in conflict, they should work together. Responding to the recent comments of NC MP from Srinagar Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, he said, "Let them say whatever they want. Omar Abdullah is the people’s Chief Minister."
The NC chief, defending his son, said that Omar Abdullah is not working on anyone’s instructions. He asked whether you want us to fight the central government. The NC chief justified Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s stance by citing the need to maintain a working relationship with the Center for the state’s progress. Farooq Abdullah said in clarification, "We do not want conflict with the Centre. How can we solve people’s issues through fighting? We are not with BJP. But the cooperation of the Central Government is necessary for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. We want to work together with the central government."
Farooq Abdullah went soft with the central government
He justified the soft attitude of the UT government towards the BJP-led central government. Farooq Abdullah also reacted to the controversy related to BSF Commandant accused in the paper scam. He said that the accused cannot attend the National Conference. He said, "I did not know that I was an accused in any case. Unless a clean chit is given, he cannot be included in NC."
