Air India Express: An emergency landing of Air India Express flight (IX- 549) was made at Thiruvananthapuram airport today. After take off, smoke started coming out from the flight. This flight was going to Muscat. There were 148 passengers on board.
According to the information, all passengers and crew members are safe. Giving information, Air India Express spokesperson said that an alternative aircraft has been arranged for the onward journey of the passengers.
Air India Express issued statement
Air India Express said in its statement, “Air India Express flight IX 549 from Thiruvananthapuram to Muscat was reported during takeoff. The incident occurred at Thiruvananthapuram Airport at 8:39 am today. Smoke on the runway. After being seen, the passengers were brought back safely. The airport officials confirmed that there was no fire and due to this the flight was delayed. .”
He further said in his statement, “Our passengers An alternative flight has been arranged for the onward journey. This incident will be investigated. We take complete care of the safety of our passengers. We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers.”
There was a technical glitch in another flight of Air India Express
Earlier on September 4, a technical glitch had occurred shortly before takeoff of the flight from New Delhi to Bahrain. After this the plane had to make an emergency landing. Regulatory body DGCA had also taken cognizance of this incident. He had also ordered an investigation.
