Corruption in Raipur: A shocking case of corruption has come to light in Raipur Municipal Corporation in the name of health facility during the rescue of corona epidemic in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur. Necessary goods were used, but a particular person has been benefited by paying rent much more than the original price of the same. In this case, the BJP RTI cell has surrounded the municipal corporation by issuing a document.
BJP RTI Cell disclosed
In fact, the BJP RTI cell has exposed the corruption of lakhs of rupees in the temporary Kovid Center built at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in the district. BJP RTI Cell’s co-media in-charge Alok Sharma has disclosed with evidence that Rs 79 lakh 90 thousand 162 has been spent by the Municipal Corporation Raipur through Smart City Limited only on rental goods. Had the goods been bought for this much money, the rate of purchase would have been less than the rent.
Paid by paying rent more than the original price
According to the document extracted through RTI, Rs 59 lakh 37 thousand 662 has been spent on rent on CCTV and sound system itself. On the other hand, Rs 11 lakh 25 thousand for 25 intercoms, Rs 2 lakh 96 thousand for 750 meters of wire rental has been given. At this rate, more wire could have been purchased than this. 1 lakh 72 thousand 500 rupees have been paid in lieu of rent for 23 big electric bulbs. 157 CFL bulbs were also hired. For which 3 lakh 14 thousand rupees were given. With this much money, many times CFL bulbs could also be bought. At the same time, 75 thousand rupees were paid for 1 AC and 70 thousand rupees for 5 total fare.
Leader of Opposition demands high level inquiry
Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik has taunted the Congress on this matter. He said that the 3 big problems of the country are Corona, Corruption and Congress. In the temporary Kovid center in Raipur, goods worth about 80 lakh rupees were brought on rent. If we calculate it fully and buy the goods, then it will cost less. Congress knows very well to convert disaster into opportunity. There should be a high level inquiry in this matter and action should be taken against the guilty officials. Meanwhile, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Ejaz Dhebar, while avoiding this matter, said that it would be too early to say anything. I will take information and tell you what happened after all.
