India Alliance: To deal with the BJP-led NDA, parties like Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party have come together and formed the India Alliance. But the internal conflict going on between them is not ending. Contradictions are coming to the fore between the parties of the India Alliance. Something similar was seen in West Bengal, when Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary targeted TMC.
Senior Congress leader and Baharampur MP Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary reached Domkal in Murshidabad Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday (April 27) to campaign for CPI-M State Secretary Mohammad Saleem. During this, he attacked TMC and alleged that the party led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is weakening the opposition’s India alliance in West Bengal. Apart from Congress and TMC, CPI-M is also included in the India alliance.
You have to defeat TMC in Bengal: Adhir Ranjan
According to the Indian Express, Adhir Ranjan, while addressing the election rally in Murshidabad, said, “There is a saying that the day is known from the morning. The crowd here today indicates that Salim Bhai is going to Parliament this time.” You have to defeat Trinamool Congress in three Lok Sabha constituencies of Murshidabad district (Murshidabad, Baharampur and Jangipur). He appealed to the people that you have to elect Salim Bhai, so that he can continue the fight with BJP.
‘Mamata is helping BJP by being out of India alliance’
The Congress leader claimed that BJP is benefiting in West Bengal. He blamed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for this. Adhir Ranjan said, “BJP is losing everywhere in the country. But BJP is gaining in Bengal. This is because of Mamata Banerjee and her policies.” He said, “She is helping BJP by coming out of the India alliance. She is helping BJP grow in Bengal by targeting Congress and the Left Front.”
Mamata is helping to save Abhishek Banerjee: Adhir Ranjan
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee has been questioned several times by CBI and ED in corruption related cases. Adhir Ranjan claimed that Mamata is helping BJP to save Abhishek. He said, “Mamata is doing this to save her nephew Abhishek Banerjee from the investigation by the central agency. She has no option but to help the BJP.”
TMC is contesting elections alone in Bengal
Actually, TMC is contesting alone on 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal. The thing to note here is that TMC is also a part of the India alliance. However, TMC is contesting the elections alone in the state, while Congress and Left Front are contesting the elections together. During seat distribution, Adhir Ranjan had opposed giving more seats to TMC in the alliance. It was believed that for this reason TMC entered the field to contest the elections alone.
