Mumbai News: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar on Friday (April 28) called for working together to end the growing hatred in the country. He said this while addressing the ‘Eid Milan’ program organized by his party here. Pawar said that this problem cannot be solved until we strengthen humanity and brotherhood. We have to decide. There may be differences in political ideologies, caste and religion, but if we want to strengthen India, we have to come together.
Leaders of SP, JDU and Congress participated in the program
Besides religious leaders from Christian and Muslim communities, Congress leaders Subodh Kant Sahai, Rashid Alvi and Acharya Pramod Krishnam, BSP leader Kunwar Danish Ali, JD(U) leader K.C. Tyagi, Lakshadweep MP Mohammad Faizal and others attended the event. Tyagi said that unity is the identity of Indian civilization.
What did KC Tyagi say about the Eid Milan program
He said, “There was a time…when the tradition of such events (Eid Milan) was abolished. I am happy that this tradition is being revived.” The JD(U) leader said, “The word secular has become a ‘abuse word’ in the city where Maulana Azad gave a speech from Jama Masjid and greeted people. At the time of partition, he was called to stay here. Now people are identified by their clothes.” Siraj Mehdi, head of NCP’s minority cell, said the event was being organized to counter the growing hatred with love and brotherhood.
