He said, “Cyber attacks have taken place in many countries and these threats are hovering over all the major economies of the world. According to the estimates of the World Bank, cyber attacks would have caused a loss of $ 5200 billion worldwide between 2019-2023. The use of cryptocurrency further complicates the process of detection and prevention.
The Home Minister also suggested that in line with the United Nations Convention on the Criminal Use of Information and Communication Technology, speedy preservation, investigation and coordination of evidence is necessary. He said that there is a need to strengthen the Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to deal with the upcoming technologies.

The home minister pointed out that with the rise in cybercrime involving digital currency, there is a need for a “dedicated common channel” between the countries to prevent such economic irregularities.
Referring to the country’s steps to deal with cyber criminals, Shah said India has set up a universally accessible ‘digital infrastructure model’ that has become an example in the world today.

He further said, “India has developed Aadhaar model for digital identity, UPI mode for faster payments, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC, and Open Health Service Network) etc. The world today needs a new model for digital public infrastructure to facilitate the flow of information and finance. The Union Home Minister also said that India has started the world’s largest training program for cyber security, which is being run through the online course platform ‘CY Train’ portal.
