Sanjay Raut said, “There are very serious allegations against State Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla. Such a person is the Director General of Police today. Can you expect her to conduct fair elections? We have said that the reins of the elections should be in her hands. Then the Election Commission says that they do not have the right to do so. At the same time, the DG of Jharkhand is under their authority. “Police pressure is running on top of the system.”

Nana Patole wrote a letter to EC

Earlier, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole wrote a letter to the Election Commission demanding the removal of Rashmi Shukla. Patole said, “Shukla is a controversial officer who has sided with the BJP and his continuation in the post will raise doubts over the conduct of elections in a fair and transparent manner.”

“The Election Commission has ignored Congress’s request to remove Shukla but has accepted BJP’s similar request to remove top police officers from opposition-ruled West Bengal and poll-bound Jharkhand,” he said. Voting will take place in Maharashtra on 20th November and the results will be announced on 23rd November.
