Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Congress party has suffered another major setback. Party candidate from Indore Lok Sabha seat, Akshay Kanti Bam withdrew his name on Monday. The date for withdrawal of nomination under Indore Lok Sabha was 29 April. He withdrew his name after meeting the Indore election officer. It was said that local leaders had protested against giving him the ticket.

Total assets
Congress candidate Akshay Kanti Bam had filed his nomination from Indore Lok Sabha on 24 April. He had given information in the election affidavit that his total assets were Rs 57 crore. At present he does not have any car. However, he wears a watch worth Rs 14 lakh. His immovable property is worth more than Rs 46 lakh, while his movable property is worth Rs 8 crore 50 lakh. He is a businessman by profession.
When is voting in Indore?
Voting for Indore seat will be held on May 13, 2024 under the fourth phase of general elections. Shankar Lalwani is in the election field from BJP there.
Surat Lok Sabha seat
Before Indore, BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal from Surat Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat has already won the election unopposed before voting. From there, the candidature of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani was canceled by the Surat Election Officer. Prima facie, the election officer had found the signatures from Kumbhani’s proponents to be incorrect, while the other eight candidates had also withdrawn their names.
