Russian cancer vaccine: Today the whole world is troubled by serious diseases like cancer. In such a situation, Russia has made a claim which is a news of relief for the whole world. Russia said that it has created a cancer vaccine which will be available free to all citizens. On Monday (December 16), the Russian Health Ministry announced that it has developed a vaccine against cancer that will be administered to cancer patients in Russia for free from the beginning of 2025. According to Russian state-owned news agency TASS, Andrey Kaprin, General Director of the Radiology Medical Research Center of the Russian Health Ministry, gave information about this vaccine on a Russian radio channel.
Alexander Gintsburg, director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow, previously told TASS that the vaccine can block tumor growth and prevent cancer from spreading. This vaccine will obviously be used to treat cancer patients rather than being given to the general public to prevent cancer. This vaccine can be given to every type of cancer patient.
There is a race to develop vaccine in other countries too
The Russian Health Ministry, including the Russian National Medical Research Radiological Center and the Gamaleya National Research Center, confirmed the announcement and clarified how the vaccine works. It is currently unclear which cancers the vaccine will treat, how effective it is, or even what the vaccine will be called. It is scientifically possible that some type of vaccine may be developed to target cancer. Other countries are also currently working on similar developments.
Cancer vaccines already present in the market
UK in the year 2023 The government signed a contract with a German biotechnology company to develop personalized cancer treatments. Apart from this, pharmaceutical companies Moderna and Merck & Company are currently working on skin cancer vaccines. There are already vaccines on the market that aim to prevent cancer, such as vaccines against human papillomavirus (HPV), which help prevent cervical cancer.
