Rishabh Pant Mistakes Against KKR: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted the second highest total on the board in IPL history. In the 16th match of IPL 2024, KKR scored 272 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals (DC). But KKR team reached such a big score because of two big mistakes of the opponent i.e. Delhi captain Rishabh Pant. If Pant had not made those two mistakes, the scene could have been different. KKR could have been restricted to a total of less than 200.
But would you regret now when the birds have eaten away the fields? Now KKR’s total cannot be reduced, but we can definitely tell you those two mistakes of Pant, which ruined Delhi Capitals and made it the second highest total in the history of IPL.
1- First mistake- Naren was out on 21 runs, did not take DRS
Sunil Narine, who came to open for KKR, played a brilliant inning of 85 runs in 39 balls with the help of 7 fours and 7 sixes, in which his strike rate was 217.95. But if Pant had shown wisdom, Narine could have returned to the pavilion on 21 runs, but this did not happen.
Actually, Mitchell Marsh had dismissed Narine through Caught Behind on the score of 21 runs, but the umpire did not declare it out, after which Marsh asked captain Pant to take DRS, but Pant rejected his request. . In such a situation, if Pant had taken DRS, Narine would have returned to the pavilion on 21 runs and KKR would not have been able to get that start.
2- Second mistake
Captain Pant’s second mistake was not a big one, but a mistake is a mistake. Actually, Delhi bowler Rasikh Salam had dismissed KKR captain Shreyas Iyer, but the umpire had rejected it. This time too the matter was of caught behind i.e. keeper catch. Rasikh Salam asked Captain Pant to take DRS, but he refused this time too. After this, Iyer contributed a little to the team by hitting 2 sixes. Iyer scored 18 runs in 11 balls with the help of 2 sixes.
