Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Lok Sabha Elections Complaints are continuously coming to the Election Commission regarding violation of the Model Code of Conduct in 2024. Meanwhile, a delegation of Trinamool Congress (TMC) reached the Central Election Commission on Monday (8 April 2024). TMC has demanded from the Election Commission to remove the chiefs of ED, CBI, NIA and Income Tax.
TMC leader Dola Sen said that BJP is using these central investigation agencies. He said that the Election Commission should create equal opportunities for other parties by removing the chiefs of the investigating agencies.
‘TMC wants to get leaders arrested before Lok Sabha elections’
The TMC delegation has reached the Central Election Commission to lodge a complaint against the way politics is being done regarding the NIA investigation. TMC leaders say that BJP wants to arrest our leaders before the elections.
Dola Sen said that the chief of the central investigating agencies should be changed. Along with this, the TMC delegation has demanded from the Election Commission that the West Bengal government should be allowed to help the storm victims in Jalpaiguri. So that their broken houses can be rebuilt and other help can be provided.
‘There is nexus between BJP and NIA’
TMC leader Saket Gokhale questioned whether the Center had taken the approval of the Election Commission before the appointment of the new Director General of NIA and demanded an investigation into this appointment. He also alleged that BJP’s ‘nexus’ with central agencies is deepening during the Lok Sabha elections.
Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Gokhale, in a post on ‘X’, alleged that BJP leader Jitendra Tiwari had met NIA Superintendent of Police DR Singh on March 26 and on the same day Sadanand Date was appointed as the new chief of the agency.
Gokhale claimed that Tiwari had allegedly met Singh with a ‘packet’ and during the meeting, the BJP leader had handed him a list of TMC leaders and workers to target.
