SRH vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs. Playing first, RCB had scored a huge score of 206 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar scored half-centuries for Bengaluru. On the other hand, SRH, while chasing the target, did not have a good start as the team lost 3 big wickets within 50 runs. Travis Head could not create any storm this time, who scored only 1 run. Whereas his partner Abhishek Sharma got the start, but could not put the team in a better position. Abhishek scored 31 runs in 13 balls by hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Hyderabad batsmen were seen struggling especially against spin bowling. RCB’s spin bowlers took 5 wickets in this innings.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had scored 62 runs in the powerplay overs, but the team had also lost 4 wickets. The 10th over had just started when SRH lost the sixth wicket at the score of 85 runs. It seemed as if Hyderabad would lose the match by a huge margin. Meanwhile, the 39-run partnership between captain Pat Cummins and Shahbaz Ahmed gave SRH hope, but Cummins was out after scoring 31 runs in 15 balls. Cummins also hit 1 four and 3 sixes in his innings. Sunrisers Hyderabad needed 75 runs in the last 5 overs, but only 3 wickets were left in hand. Only 27 runs came in the next 3 overs, due to which the team still needed 48 runs in 2 overs to win. Shahbaz Ahmed played an inning of 40 runs in 37 balls for Hyderabad, but tight bowling by Mohammad Siraj and Yash Dayal in the 19th over ensured RCB’s victory by 35 runs.
RCB’s strategy of 3 spin bowlers is effective
Royal Challengers Bangalore entered the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad with 3 spin bowling options. This strategy proved effective from the very first over as Will Jacques dismissed Travis Head. Meanwhile, Karan Sharma took 2 wickets for just 29 runs in 4 overs. Although the third spinner Swapnil Singh gave away 40 runs in 3 overs, but he made the match one-sided for RCB by taking the wickets of Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen. In the match, Yash Dayal took 1 wicket and Cameron Green took 2 wickets.
