RBI Gold: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has transferred 102 tonnes of gold from the safes of the Bank of England to India. In this way, RBI is continuously increasing the gold reserve of the country because now it has total gold reserves of 855 tonnes. With this step of RBI, the gold reserves in India have increased further. From September 2022, India has brought back 214 tonnes of gold. This reflects RBI’s priorities in keeping its valuable properties and assets within its limits.

RBI now has a total of 510.5 tonnes of gold reserves within the country, while with total reserves of 855 tonnes, RBI has taken a series of steps as part of its commitment to keep gold in India. In fact, due to global conditions and increasing geo-political risks, it has become necessary to increase economic security in India by managing one’s assets at the domestic level and these steps are being taken as per the government’s goal.
Special preparations were made to bring back this gold.
The transportation of this gold required strict secrecy and advanced safety measures. For this, it was mandatory to involve special aircraft and safe protocols. This is not the first time that India has brought back a large amount of gold to its soil. In May this year, India transferred 100 tonnes of gold from the Bank of England to domestic treasury.
