Ram Mandir: Karnataka’s Ramanagara district in-charge minister CN Ashwath Narayan has requested Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to build a temple at Ramdevrabetta on the lines of the Ram temple being built in Ayodhya. For this, it has been urged to constitute a development committee.
In a letter to Bommai and Endowments Minister Shashikala Jolle, Narayan demanded that Ramdevrabetta in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district should be developed as the Ayodhya of South India. He said that Shriram temple should be constructed by using 19 acres of land of endowment department at Ramdevrabetta.
Narayan said, “There is a belief among the people of the region that Ramdevrabetta was established by Sugriva. Keeping in view the religious sentiments of the people of the district, Ramdevrabetta should be developed as a heritage and attractive tourist destination. With this, we will be able to display our culture and tourism will also be encouraged.
Higher Education Minister Narayan said, “People also believe that Shri Ram, during his exile, spent a year in the forest with Sita and Lakshmana. They also believe that seven great sages did their penance here. Apart from this, it is a major vulture conservation area in the country. ”””’ He said in the letter that the traditional connection between Ramdevrabetta and Ramayana is from Tretayuga.

Minister Narayan had come to Ayodhya a few days ago
Higher Education Minister Narayan reached Ayodhya on 15 December. Here he had darshan of Lord Ramlala along with the devotees and offered a silver brick brought from Ramnagar district of Karnataka to contribute to the construction of the Ram temple. After visiting Ramlala, he had said that Ram Janmabhoomi is our inspiration. He had said that Ayodhya is our identity.
Narayan said about Lord Ram that, the name of the district from which we come is Ramnagar. He said that when Lord Ram went to exile, he stayed in Ramnagar during that time. Narayan said that at that time the name of Ramnagar was Ramdevrabetta. Later the name of Ramdevrabetta was changed to Ramnagar. The minister said that at the place where Lord Ram stayed in Ramnagar, Ram had worshiped Shiva. After this, the minister of Karnataka said that therefore the place has a very old connection with Lord Rama.
