A party leader said the MLAs would personally approach the Speaker and hand over a letter stating that they were withdrawing their resignations.
90 MLAs left the CLP meeting
In the search for the national president of the Congress, the infighting of the party had come to the fore in Rajasthan. State Congress MLAs had resigned against the possibility of Sachin Pilot replacing Ashok Gehlot as chief minister. Around 90 MLAs had left the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting and submitted their resignations to Speaker Joshi. At that time CM Gehlot was in the race for the post of National President of Congress.
Announcement of budget session on 23 January
This step was taken because the budget session will be announced in the state on January 23. Apart from this, the new Congress in-charge of the state Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa will hold discussions with party leaders in Jaipur. Let us inform that a notice has also been received by the Rajasthan High Court to Speaker Joshi regarding the pending resignation, due to this also the MLA is talking about withdrawing the resignation. Last Wednesday, Randhawa met former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot. Apart from this, he had met the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly last Friday.
What did the new Congress in-charge say?
Party leaders had raised the issue of factionalism between Gehlot and Pilot in front of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Randhawa spoke to journalists on the tussle in the state Congress. He said that I am not sitting in a five star hotel, I am sitting among the people, we will solve all the problems. He said that right now his priority is to establish the organization and complete the appointments in the block, district and state level units of the party. Regarding ticket distribution in the next assembly, he said that ticket distribution will be decided after the survey.
