Know Mahim Assembly Seat

Mahim constituency is located in the heart of the city and extends from Century Bazaar in Prabhadevi to Mahim Koliwada. In this area, undivided Shiv Sena was established (1966) and then MNS in 2006. The area also has places like Siddhivinayak Temple, Portuguese Church, Mahim Church, Citylight Cinema, Mahim Dargah and the headquarters of Shiv Sena (UBT). The number of upper caste voters is high in this constituency.

MNS candidates won in 2009

In the 2009 assembly elections, MNS’s Nitin Sardesai won from Mahim by 48,734 votes. The party’s Sandeep Deshpande got 42,690 votes in 2014 and lost to Saravankar. Sardesai lost to Saravankar in 2019 but got 40,350 votes.

Pressure on Saravankar to withdraw from elections – Sources

If PTI’s report is to be believed, sources said that there is tremendous pressure on Saravankar to withdraw from the election race, but he has not been influenced by it yet. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is 4 November.

Raj Thackeray is a resident of Mahim area.

There are 2,25,373 voters in Mahim, including 1,12,638 males, 1,12,657 females and 78 voters of the third gender. Raj Thackeray is also a resident of Mahim assembly constituency. Congress has some votes on this seat.
