A different form of Collector Arvind Dubey was seen at the cave. The officials and villagers were surprised by his scholarly nature of history and scriptures. Collector Arvind Dubey said that the holy land of Madhya Pradesh has a very close connection with Lord Shri Krishna. On one hand, while he received education in Sandipani Ashram of Ujjain, on the other hand, Shri Krishna also fought a war with the great warrior Jamvant in Jamgarh, the holy region of Vindhyachal mountain range and Mother Narmada.
Collector Arvind Dubey said that the extremely strong and intelligent Jamwant is called Rikshraj in the local language. Jamwant was a part of Shri Ram’s army along with monkey king Sugriva. Jamwant knew who Hanuman ji was and how capable he was. Jamwant himself was also long lived, who lived for three great ages – Satyayuga, Treta and Dwapar. In Dwapar, he fought a battle with Shri Krishna in Jamgarh, a famous mythological and archaeological site in Raisen district of present Madhya Pradesh.
Raisen Collector told this
He told that in Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran and Shri Devi Mahapuran, there is mention of war between Shri Krishna and Jamwant for Syamantak Mani. In Valmiki Ramayana, Jamwant’s strength, intelligence and efforts are mentioned in detail. Similarly, there is a reference to Jamwant ji in the religious scripture ‘Prem Sagar’ which depicts the exploits of Shri Krishna. Jamwant was also known by the names Jamwant, Jamuvan, Jamvant, Jambavan, Sambuvan etc.
From the point of view of era division, Ramayana period came in Treta Yuga, by then Jamwant had become old. He did not have as much strength left as he had in his youth. He himself said this. When millions of monkeys and bears were sent in different directions in search of Mother Sita, Jamwant was also in the southern group along with Hanuman, Angad, Nal and Neel. Where Jamwant himself reminded Hanuman ji of his power and strength. Many demons of Ravana were also killed in the war.
Collector Arvind Dubey told that we are already familiar with the victory story of Shri Ram during the Ramayana period of Treta Yuga. After that, in the next era i.e. Dwapar era, Lord Krishna appeared in the form of Lord Krishna. Then Jamwant had a fight with Shri Krishna over Syamantak Mani. The war between the two continued for 27 days in Jamvant Cave in Jamgarh. Jamwant lost only to Krishna in his life, then he believed that he was God (Ram). After that Jamwant got his daughter Jamwanti married to Shri Krishna. In this way, Jamwant ji gave the privilege of making this area the in-laws house of Lord Krishna.
Collector Arvind Dubey told that Jamwant ji was a great devotee of Lord Shri Ram and had immense love for Shri Ram in his heart, but during Dwapar Yuga, Jamwant ji made a huge mistake and unknowingly he became Shri Ram in the same form. He fought with Krishna. According to the depiction described in the scriptures, Jamwant ji was the master of immense strength. During the war between Ravana and Shri Ram, Jamwant ji used to single-handedly defeat 100 warriors. When the war ended, Jamwant ji succumbed to his ego and started boasting of his strength in front of Lord Shri Ram. Lord Shri Ram immediately sensed the pride growing in his mind and to remove his pride, Shri Ram assured him that he will bring the incarnation of Shri Krishna in Dwaparayuga and fight with him.
God kept his promise
He told that as per his promise, Shri Ram met Jamwant in Dwapar Yuga and he also fought with him. It so happened that Shri Krishna was accused of theft of Syamantak Mani, after which to prove himself innocent, Shri Krishna reached a cave between Narmada and Vindhyachal mountain ranges where Jamwant ji lived with his daughter. Jamwant ji had the gem which Shri Krishna was searching for. Seeing Shri Krishna coming to his residence, Jamwant ji became enraged and started fighting with Shri Krishna. When Jamwant ji realized that the person with whom he was fighting was not an ordinary human being, he stopped the war and asked Shri Krishna to come in his real form, after which Shri Krishna appeared to him in his Ram incarnation. . Jamwant ji became very emotional after seeing his Lord Shri Ram.
Shri Krishna married Jamwanti
Arvind Dubey told that while apologizing for his mistake, Jamwant ji proposed to Shri Krishna to marry his daughter Jamwanti, after which Shri Krishna accepted Jamwanti ji as his wife. In this way, Jamwant ji asked for forgiveness, married his daughter to Shri Krishna and also returned the gem to Shri Krishna.
