Pakistan Army Act: The caretaker government of Punjab on Tuesday (May 16) has approved action against persons involved in vandalism of military establishments as well as public and private properties, as per the Pakistan Army Act. This decision was taken after the protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers after the arrest of Imran Khan.
In a meeting chaired by Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, it was decided to take action against those involved in the violence with instructions to nab them at the earliest.

The Punjab government directed officials to give priority to inter-agency cooperation among all security institutions to accurately identify criminals responsible for terrorist acts. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed the meeting that the investigators should arrest the culprits at the earliest.
The investigating team is also analyzing the CCTV recordings to identify the criminals involved. During this protest, the army has arrested more than 250 people. Many of these people have been arrested for attacking Rawalpindi GHQ. According to one figure, the protesters have destroyed property worth about 25 crores. During this, the protesters also made many police stations their victims.
