CBI Raid At Sameer Wankhede House: Former Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Sameer Wankhede has said that he is being targeted for being a patriot. Wankhede’s statement came a day after the CBI raid, in which the central probe agency conducted a 13-hour search operation at his Mumbai home. Wankhede first hit the headlines in 2021 when it arrested several people, including film actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, from a cruise ship.

Wankhede told India Today, “The CBI conducted a search operation in my house for more than 12 hours. They found Rs 18,000 and four property papers. These properties belonged to me before I joined the job. This is the punishment for being a patriot.” ‘ He further said that a team of 6 officers searched my father’s house in the dark and found nothing. Another team of seven officers searched my father-in-law’s house. My parents-in-law are old.

What is the case against Wankhede?

The CBI had registered a case against Sameer Wankhede for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 25 crore from Aryan Khan in the drugs case on the cruise. It has been said in the complaint that Wankhede had asked for this amount not to implicate Aryan Khan. A case has been registered against them under sections 7, 7A and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act as well as sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 388 (extortion by threat) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Aryan Khan was arrested

Wankhede arrested Aryan Khan on October 2, 2021 by raiding a rave party going on at Cordelia Cruise. Aryan Khan was kept in police custody for 26 days and had to stay in jail for several days. Later he was granted bail due to lack of evidence.
