Cheteshwar Pujara In Duleep Trophy 2023: A series of 2 Test matches is to be played between India and West Indies from 12 July. In view of this poor performance of Pujara, he has been dropped from the Indian Test team on the West Indies tour.
According to a report in ‘Times of India’, Pujara will play for North Zone in the Duleep Trophy starting June 28. A reliable source told The Times of India, “The selectors and the coach (Rahul Dravid) wanted to try youngsters like Jaiswal and Gaikwad, which is why Pujara has not been picked for this tour. If he scores runs in domestic cricket, the doors are not closed for him, he has been told.”
Pujara has played 103 Tests
Let us tell you that Cheteshwar Pujara, who made his Test debut in October 2010, has played 103 Test matches in his international career so far. Batting in 176 innings of these matches, he scored 7195 runs at an average of 43.61. During this, he has scored 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries with his bat including 3 double centuries. In this, his high score has been 206 runs.
It is worth mentioning that apart from the Test, Pujara has also played 5 ODIs, in which he has scored 390 runs at an average of 20.53. In this, he has scored 1 half-century.
