The process of forming JPC on One Nation One Election has started. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has sought names from all parties for committee members. He said, “PM Modi worked to fulfill the dreams of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Has Congress ever thought of making any SC, ST law minister? The Congress party has repeatedly committed the sin of taking the name of Baba Saheb. , He cannot dust.”
Congress alleged that during the Parliament session on Tuesday (17 December 2024), Union Home Minister Amit Shah adopted BR Ambedkar. Congress talked about apologizing for the speech given by Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha, after which Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday called on the Home Minister. Amit Shah defended the statement. Rijiju said Congress parties continue to use Ambedkar’s name for vote bank politics, while the opposition raises slogans of Jai Bhim in the Rajya Sabha.
Opposition MPs created a ruckus by raising slogans of Jai Bhim on Wednesday (18 December 2024) over Amit Shah’s remarks on Dr. BR Ambedkar, after which Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has adjourned the Rajya Sabha proceedings till 2 pm.
