In an official statement regarding the President’s visit, it was told on Wednesday that Murmu will attend the fourth convocation ceremony of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management in Gwalior.
An official of BJP’s Madhya Pradesh unit said on Wednesday that the President will have lunch at Jai Vilas Palace, the residence of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in Gwalior, and will also visit the Jivaji Rao Scindia Museum.
Scindia family monitoring tax preparations
Regarding the visit, the official said, “The President Draupadi Murmu Elaborate arrangements are being made for K Jai Vilas Palace tour. Jyotiraditya Scindia’s wife Priyadarshini Raje Scindia is monitoring the preparations.
He informed that preparations are underway at Jai Vilas Palace for the traditional welcome of the President and troupes will present cultural programs on the occasion. “Before Murmu, the then presidents including Rajendra Prasad, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Giani Zail Singh, Shankar Dayal Sharma, APJ Abdul Kalam and Pratibha Patil have visited Jai Vilas Palace,” he said.
When was Jai Vilas Palace built?
Jai Vilas Palace was built in 1874 by Maharaja Jayajirao Scindia of Gwalior during the British Raj, while the main part of the palace is now the Jivaji Rao Scindia Museum. A part of it is the residence of some descendants of Scindia.
