Prakash Parv 2024: The birthday of the 9th Guru of Sikhism, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji is celebrated as Prakash Parv.
Guru Tegh Bahadur, who sacrificed his life for his ideals and human values, was born on 21 April 1621 in Amritsar.
Prakash Parv is celebrated on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur Singh Ji. This day is celebrated in the honor and memory of the great warrior and 9th Guru of the Sikhs.

Prakash Parv has great importance in Sikhism.
On the day of Prakash Parv, people of the Sikh community take out Prabhat Pheri early in the morning, chanting ‘Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru’ from 4-5 am.
This ferry starts from the Gurudwara and goes around the surrounding places and goes back to the Gurudwara.
Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is known as Hind Ki Chadar. He was born on the fifth day of Krishna Paksha of Vaishakh month.
Shri Guru Gobind Singh was the son of Guru Hargobind Singh. He was married to Mata Gujri.
In the year 2024, the 402nd birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was specially celebrated.
History related to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur History)
During the time of Guru Teg Bahadur, there was the rule of Aurangzeb, it has been claimed in the book of Sikh History that during the reign of Aurangzeb, Hindus were being forcibly converted.
Troubled by this, many people took refuge in Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib. To protect the religion, Guru Teg Bahadur stood firmly in front of the Mughals. He vowed not to bow before the Mughals, regardless of his life.
When Aurangzeb came to know about this, he was shocked. The Mughal ruler killed his family members. Aurangzeb ordered Guru Tegh Bahadur to accept Islam but he did not bow down to the Mughals.
Then on 24 November 1675, on the orders of Aurangzeb, Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded publicly at the crossroads in New Delhi. The present Shishganj Gurudwara (Shishganj Gurudwara Delhi) is built at the same place where the head of Guru Teg Bahadur had fallen.
