UP Election 5th Phase Voting: Voting took place today for 61 seats in 12 districts of the state in the fifth phase of the UP Assembly Elections 2022. Around 54.09 per cent voting has taken place till 6 pm. About 52.77 per cent votes have been cast in Amethi, while 58.01 per cent people have exercised their votes in Ayodhya. Apart from this, 54.60 percent voting has taken place in Bahraich. In Barabanki 54.65 percent and in Chitrakoot 59.64 percent people have cast their vote. On the other hand, 54.47 percent polling was recorded in Gonda, 57.01 percent in Kaushambi and 50.93 percent in Pratapgarh. 56.06 percent in Rae Bareli, 57.24 percent in Shravasti, 54.88 percent in Sultanpur have come to the fore so far.
On the fifth phase of elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said that a total of 377 cases were registered for violation of the Model Election Code during the polling, on which the Election Commission is taking action. At the same time, till 6 pm, the election was completed in a completely peaceful manner. State Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said that 693 candidates were in the fray in the fifth phase, out of which 90 are women candidates. There are 2.25 crore voters in this phase. Some people attacked the convoy of Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate from Kunda assembly constituency Gulshan Yadav at around 11 am in Paharpur Banohi of Kotwali Kunda police station in Pratapgarh district, due to which his vehicles were damaged and he suffered minor injuries.
Confirming the incident, Kunda Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajit Kumar said that SP candidate Gulshan Yadav had gone on a tour and as soon as he left the Paharpur Banohi polling station, some people attacked him, due to which the vehicle was damaged. . In the fifth phase, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya is the BJP candidate from Sirathu assembly constituency in his home district Kaushambi against whom Samajwadi Party has fielded Apna Dal (Communist) leader Pallavi Patel. In this phase, polling was held in religiously important areas from Ayodhya to Prayagraj and Chitrakoot.
