Madhya Pradesh News: Rewa, November 16: Police arrested a 19-year-old girl after seizing 146 grams of drugs during a raid in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. Police gave this information on Saturday.
Sirmaur area sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Umesh Prajapati told PTI that the police raided the house of the accused girl Sonam Tiwari in Baikunthpur town on Friday. The value of the recovered drugs is said to be Rs 4.39 lakh.
Police caught the girl with contraband, while her father Ashok Tiwari (50) and brother Shivam (18) managed to escape. He said that apart from the intoxicant (brown sugar), the police team has also seized a packet containing 40 grams of white powder, which will be investigated.
The officer said that a case has been registered against the girl under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and she has been produced in the court.
Prajapati told that the father and son bought brown sugar and the family sold it from their home. The search for the absconding people in this case has been started.
