Advocacy of a two-state solution
On the other hand, the Quad leaders have advocated a two-state solution. The joint statement said, ‘We are moving towards a two-state solution. This decision has been taken keeping in mind Israel’s legitimate security concerns. At the same time, this decision is also committed to an independent Palestinian state. Doing so provides a just, lasting and safe solution for both Israel and Palestine.’ It said, ‘Any unilateral action that undermines the possibility of a two-state solution needs to be stopped. This includes expansion of settlements by Israel and stopping violence from both sides. We emphasize the need to prevent the conflict from escalating.’

India provides relief to Palestine
Meanwhile, India has consistently supported a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. PM Modi was one of the first global leaders to condemn Hamas’ horrific attack on Israel on October 7. Despite this, India has also expressed concern about the deteriorating situation in Gaza. India has provided assistance to the people of Gaza as per its humanitarian commitments. In July, India released the first installment of $2.5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).
