18 officers were suspended
EPFO has also suspended 18 officers. Of these, 10 are Group B officers and eight are Group A officers. Of these, 16 are accused of corruption and bribery. There are allegations against two of them of personal criminal involvement. Apart from this, disciplinary action has also been initiated against seven officers on the basis of non-performance. Auto settlement in withdrawal up to one lakh rupees
EPFO has started a campaign against corruption after complaints of large-scale irregularities in withdrawal of PF money and many cases of rejection of applications due to non-receipt of bribe. To make withdrawal of PF money easier, auto settlement has also been introduced in many cases. One lakh rupees for education, marriage and housing needs will be available only on the basis of online application. 25-30 percent of the claims are being paid without visiting the office or meeting the officials.
