Ban On Diesel Vehicles: The Ministry has issued a clarification on the recommendation of a panel of the Petroleum Ministry to ban diesel-powered four-wheelers. The Petroleum Ministry has said that the government has not yet accepted the recommendation to ban diesel four-wheelers in cities with a population of more than one million.
The Ministry of Petroleum has given this information by tweeting that the report of the Energy Transition Advisory Committee has been received by the Ministry of Petroleum. But the Government of India has not yet accepted the report. The ministry said that the suggestions of the Energy Transition Advisory Committee are associated with several stakeholders, including ministries as well as states. This report will be discussed with all the stakeholders. In such a situation, no decision has been taken yet regarding the report.

Petroleum Ministry said, India wants to achieve the target of net zero emissions by the year 2070. The Energy Transition Advisory Committee has given several suggestions for the adoption of low carbon fuels and the vision of the committee is about the future.
