Uttar Pradesh News: Even after spending crores of rupees in Ambedkar Nagar of UP, the people of the village are craving for a drop of water. If we talk about Jaljeevan Mission, an ambitious scheme of the central government, then the government is spending crores of rupees on it, but the situation is that this scheme is visible only on paper in Ambedkar Nagar district.
Contrary to the claims of the officials, there is only despair on the part of the villagers. Till now the government has spent crores of rupees under this scheme, but no effect is visible on the ground. The central government has set a target to complete this scheme by March 2024, but due to the arbitrariness of the responsible officers and contractors, the scheme seems to be dying. A total of more than 500 tanks are to be built in the district, but so far not a single one has been built.
The central government has set a target to provide drinking water to all gram panchayats under the Jal Jeevan Mission. A target has been set to complete it by the first March of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but due to the apathy of the officials, the villagers are still not getting water. Jal Nigam has got the responsibility of completing this scheme, but due to departmental apathy, the work is half-completed in most of the villages.
Where the department is claiming to start the supply by laying the pipeline, even there the tap has not been installed yet. After starting the excavation work for the pipeline in all the gram panchayats, it has been left incomplete, due to which the movement of the people of the village has been disrupted. The villagers are upset because of the negligence in this scheme. Due to lack of water in the taps during the summer season, now they have to yearn for water.
What did the Jal Nigam official say
When the executive engineer of Jal Nigam Suraj Verma was asked about this scheme, he shrugged his shoulders by saying that the work of this scheme is going on at a fast pace and all the gram panchayats will be covered. He said that there are 580 schemes for this, work has started in 50 percent schemes, 307 tubes have been built, work is going on for the rest, work is going on for 90 tanks, the target is to complete all the schemes by March 2024. Is placed.
On the question of completion of the scheme, the officer himself accepted that the work would not be completed on time. Although the scheme will be implemented, because the work of the tank lasts for 6 to 8 months, some schemes have been sent to the government, which will be approved, after that the work will start. We are working as per the target. Will operate till March 2024.
At the same time, the officials are showing the work only on paper, while nothing is visible on the ground. The problems of the villagers remain the same. Now the big question is whether their responsible officers are sabotaging this ambitious scheme of the government. If work continues like this, it seems impossible to complete this scheme till 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
