Noida News: The information of suspected leakage of PNG in several residential sectors in Noida, Uttar Pradesh led to panic among people on Thursday evening. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), which supplies ‘Piped Natural Gas’ (PNG) to the area, said its officials inspected the gas supply network and there was no leakage.

In fact, Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate Suhas L Yathiraj said that a report has been sought from PNG distribution company IGL on the suspected gas leak in the city. Panic prevailed in Noida on Thursday evening when locals in Sector-137, 128 and 93 shared messages on WhatsApp about the smell of gas. After this many people contacted the police and the local administration and tried to confirm about the suspected gas leak.

Gas pipeline closed after gas leak was reported
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranvijay Singh said that the information about the smell of gas came from the residential society of Sector-137, after which the gas pipeline was closed as a precaution. Meanwhile, an internal message shared at a residential society in Sector-137 around 9 pm on Thursday claimed a PNG leak and the problem was resolved by the distribution company. However, the company has denied any leak.
