Let us tell you that Indian Railways will run 7000 special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja this year. This will provide convenience to two lakh extra passengers daily. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information in a press conference on Thursday (24 October).
Last year so many trains ran
According to railway officials, last year i.e. in 2023, 4500 special trains were run in view of the festive crowd during Diwali and Chhath Puja. Officials said that in view of the increasing number of passengers, the ministry has decided to increase the services this year.

Special trains will make so many trips
It is noteworthy that Northern Railway (NR) will run a large number of trains during this period, as a large number of passengers travel to the eastern parts of the country during Diwali and Chhath Puja. NR recently said in a statement that it will operate around 3050 trips of special trains to help people reach their destinations.

Special trains made so many trips in 2023
According to the information received from the Railways, in the year 2023, Indian Railways had run festival special trains, in which Northern Railways operated 1082 trips of special trains. At the same time, 3050 trips of special trains will be operated in 2024. According to this, the frequency of special trains will increase by 181 percent. According to Railways, apart from special trains, additional coaches are also being added to the train for the convenience of passengers.
