Palghar: Wife refused to give earrings for mother’s thirteenth, then she was killed, husband absconded

Maharashtra News: In Maharashtra’s Palghar district, a man allegedly killed his wife and fled after she refused to give him earrings for her thirteenth wedding. A police officer gave this information on Sunday. Pelhar police station inspector Mahendra Shelar said the accused man’s mother had died a few days ago and he had mortgaged his wife’s jewelry to perform the last rites. After this, when the wife refused to give the earring, she was strangled to death.

What is the whole matter?
Actually, this case pertains to Palghar district of Maharashtra, where the mother of the accused had died a few days back. In such a situation, he had mortgaged all the jewelry of his wife for the last rites. After this, when his mother’s thirteenth came, he again asked his wife for earring, but the woman refused to give the earring. When the angry husband refused to give the earring, he strangled his wife to death. After which the neighbors informed the police.

Case registered against the accused
Inspector Mahendra Shelar of the police station said that the mother of the accused had died a few days ago and he had mortgaged all the jewelry of his wife. After this, the man again asked his wife to give her earrings for the rituals of the 13th day, which was the last ornament he had. On the wife’s refusal, the man strangled her to death on Saturday and fled from the house. The police officer said that the neighbors came to know about the incident after the foul smell of the dead body emanated from the house. A case has been registered on the complaint of the couple’s 14-year-old son and efforts are on to nab the accused, he said.
