Tarn Taran Police Station Attack: Four people have been taken into custody in connection with the attack on a police station in Tarn Taran district of Punjab. Along with this, it has also been revealed in the investigation that the wires of this attack were connected from across the border. Inspector General of Police Sukhchain Singh Gill said that the investigation regarding the matter has been intensified. Police have identified the suspect and two more suspects who carried out the attack will be taken into custody.
Sukhchain Singh said that senior officials are probing the matter. Four people have been taken into custody who helped with the logistics. Two more suspects who carried out the attack will be taken into custody. He said that the investigation team is probing the matter in the right way. The matter will be fully disclosed within two to three days. At present, those people are being identified, who helped in the logistics of the attack.
What is the whole matter?
A police station in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district was attacked with a rocket launcher at around 1 am on December 10. The attack was carried out at Sarhali police station in Tarn Taran district. The windows of the building were broken in the attack. The rocket launcher first fell somewhere else, then diverted and came to the police station. It is believed that if this rocket had come directly to the station, there could have been a big loss. Earlier, an RPG was also attacked in Sector-77 of Mohali. This is the second such attack in Punjab recently.

A case was registered in this matter under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. At the same time, Station House Officer (SHO) Prakash Singh was removed from Sarhali Kalan police station and Sukhbir Singh was appointed in his place. Following the attack, a team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) reached the Sarhali Kalan police station in Tarn Taran on Saturday evening and indicated a ‘terrorist link’ to the incident. The shadow pro-Khalistan outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) also later claimed responsibility for the attack. At the same time, Punjab’s DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the police is also investigating the claim of SFJ.
