Pakistani Prime Minister jumped into Champions Trophy controversy, said this in support of PCB

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Support PCB for CT 2025: There are less than three months left for the Champions Trophy 2025 to start. Pakistan is hosting this tournament. But till now neither the dates of the tournament have been announced nor any agreement has been reached on its venue. India has refused to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan and has instead proposed a hybrid model. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on this issue and informed him about the recent developments.

Pakistan has accepted this hybrid model, but has also kept some conditions along with it. The biggest condition among these is ‘Fusion Formula’, that is, if India does not play any ICC event in Pakistan, then Pakistan will also not be a part of any event organized in India.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif assured full support to PCB on this issue. He said that this is not just a question of money, but also a question of dignity and public sentiment of Pakistan. “The PCB’s stance reflects the sentiments of all citizens of Pakistan, especially when India has refused to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan,” Sharif told Naqvi, according to Geo TV.

According to the PTI report, Mohsin Naqvi met the Pakistani Prime Minister and informed him about the recent developments and also asked if the PCB had to take any tough decision on the tournament, could he seek his approval on it.

A top ICC source said that ICC has accepted the hybrid model given by India, under which India’s matches will be played in Dubai. Apart from this, ICC has agreed to make similar arrangements in multilateral events till 2027.
