Pakistan can release 290 Afghan prisoners, Taliban official expressed hope

Pakistan Release Afghan Prisoners: 290 Afghan prisoners lodged in Pakistan’s jail will be released soon. This claim has been made by Syed Abdul Jaber, Consul General appointed by Taliban in Pakistan. Earlier, out of 2,600 Afghan prisoners lodged in Pakistan, about 2,350 were released, who have reached Afghanistan.

Syed Abdul Jaber said that it is expected that he will be released in the next two months and we have a lawyer for him. Along with this, he told that more than 28,000 citizens of the country have returned from Iran and Pakistan in the last one month. According to Tolonews, Taliban-appointed refugee and repatriation department spokesman Abdul Mutalib Haqqani said a committee headed by the attorney general has been formed to deal with the problems of Afghan prisoners.

28,000 refugees have returned to Afghanistan

Department spokesman Abdul Mutalib Haqqani said about 28,000 refugees had returned to the country from Iran and Pakistan last month. Of them, 5,000 have returned only from Pakistan. He said that recently 66 prisoners including children were released from the jails of Sindh province of Pakistan. Who were transferred to Afghanistan through Chaman. Earlier in January 2023, Pakistan had released 524 Afghan nationals who were accused of entering without valid travel documents. Most Afghan citizens move to neighboring Pakistan for medical treatment, work, and to flee prosecution and security threats.

Another Indian prisoner dies in Pakistan jail

The condition of Pakistan’s jails is not hidden from anyone. This is the reason why news of death of prisoners keep coming from there. According to the latest media report, another Indian prisoner in Pakistan jail has died. According to reports, the deceased Indian fisherman had completed his sentence and was awaiting release, but died before that. This is the fourth such case in the last 2 months. Earlier, fishermen named Vipan Kumar on 4th April, Zulfikar on 6th May and Soma Dev on 8th May had also died.
