Pakistan Banned Holi Celebrations: In Pakistan, which was formed after the partition of India, today it has become difficult for people of other religions to live peacefully due to Islamic rules and regulations. There the rights of Hindus, Buddhists and Christians are decreasing compared to Muslims. It is reported that now Holi celebrations have been banned in all educational institutions there. That means Holi will not be allowed to be played in any school.
This news has come after the deadly attacks on Hindus in Pakistani schools on the occasion of Holi festival this year. Pakistan’s ‘Aaj News’ reports that the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has banned Holi celebrations in all educational institutions, saying that such activities are completely out of step with the country’s socio-cultural values. They are different and contrary to the Islamic identity of the country.
- In the same year, Hindu students celebrating Holi in Pakistan University were attacked, 15 people were injured.
Money was Holi in Quaid-e-Azam University
Earlier this month, pictures and videos of Holi celebrations at Islamabad’s Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) went viral on social media. After which this step has been taken. The notification of Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) said that students have been prohibited from celebrating the festival in order to adhere to “socio-cultural values”.
The Higher Education Commission gave this statement in clarification
The HEC said, “While there is no denying the fact that cultural, ethnic and religious diversity leads to an inclusive and tolerant society, which deeply respects all religions and creeds, yet we have Holi celebration has been banned, which is not related to the Islamic customs of the country. There is a need to accept this decision without any measure. Students need to be more aware of this, and they should also use their benevolent critical thinking.
Hindu minority is continuously decreasing in Pakistan
There have been many tough decisions of the government in Pakistan, due to which the problems of non-Muslims have increased there. There, the access of non-Muslims in politics has been limited, as well as there are no such arrangements for their protection, as in India. After partition, the number of non-Muslims in Pakistan was more than 14% of the total population, but now Hindus are not even 5% there.
