China Coronavirus Cases: China is currently facing a tsunami of COVID-19 cases. The emergency hotline in Beijing receives more than 30,000 calls daily. The Chinese Communist regime suddenly ended the Zero Covid Policy after heavy tension. However, in the last months of the zero covid policy, an unprecedented outbreak of the virus had started, which is now bringing China’s weak medical system to the brink of collapse.
On December 11 in Beijing, the number of Kovid patients in hospitals reached 22000. It increased by 16 times in comparison to a week. At the same time, daily emergency hotline calls exceeded 30,000, which is six times the normal call volume.
Worst situation in Beijing
The condition of corona infection in China is getting worse everyday. Tang Yun, a Beijing resident, told The Epoch Times on 14 December that local hospitals were full and patients were queuing up outside. He said that many people with serious diseases cannot be admitted to the hospital because there are not enough beds and ICU facilities.

A survey conducted by Beijing media outlet ‘The Beijinger’ showed that 70 per cent of people said they had faced COVID-19. On the other hand, Beijing resident Guang Yuan told ‘The Epoch Times’ on 14 December that most of the people he knew had been infected.
Feng Zijian, former head of China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told ‘China Youth Daily’ that 60 per cent of China’s population is likely to be infected in this first major wave. Feng said and then “eventually, about 80-90 percent of the population will be infected.”
That is, more than 1 billion people in China will be infected with this virus. Wigram Capital Advisors, an economic advisory group that provided modeling to governments during the epidemic, has expressed concern over the rising corona cases in China. According to him, the demand for ICUs should exceed hospital capacity by 10 times by the end of March, given the rising number of COVID infections in China.
Rapidly spreading infection in China
Professor Ben Cowling, head of the department of epidemiology at the University of Hong Kong’s Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, told NPR that Kovid-19 is now spreading faster in China than in other countries. It also appears to be particularly contagious among the Chinese population.
He said that at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, the reproduction number for the virus was around 2 or 3. It reached about 10 or 11 during the Omicron boom last winter in the United States. In the current outbreak in China, scientists at the Chinese National Health Commission estimate the number to be as high as 16, spreading faster than previous waves around the world.
