Ambikapur IPL Betting Busted: Ambikapur Kotwali police has busted a gang that was playing online betting and betting money in IPL. One accused Vikas Soni has been arrested while recovering note counting machine, around Rs 7 lakh and other items, while female accused Ragini Baranwal has been given a notice under Section 41.
The third accused in this case is said to be absconding. According to the police, one lakh rupees have been recovered from the possession of accused Vikas Soni, and about Rs 6 lakh and other items including a note counting machine have been recovered from the possession of the female accused.
Police had received information about betting
When the police reached the accused, a T20 match was going on in the IPL between Gujarat Titans and RCB. In which betting strip was being played. Disclosing this matter, Additional SP Amolak Singh Dhillon, Kotwali in-charge Manish Singh Parihar said that the police received information from the informer that Mayapur resident accused Vikas Soni and other people are being fed betting lines in IPL. On this concrete information, the police caught Vikas Soni at Mahamaya Road near Mahamaya Chowk and interrogated him.
Other items recovered along with the money
Accused Vikas Soni, while calling himself an agent of the gang, admitted that while working as an agent, he collects money from people and sends it to the main accused. On the basis of interrogation, the police also raided the house of the female accused Ragini Baranwal (36 years), resident of Darima Mod, Ambikapur and recovered money along with other items from the possession of the female accused. There is another main accused in this gang related to the female accused who is said to be absconding. An offense has been registered against the accused under Section 6, 7 of the Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act.

Police said that according to the arrested accused, links for playing Satta Patti were sent to the mobile through WhatsApp. Through which people used to join and bets worth lakhs of rupees were placed. Apart from the win or loss of both the teams playing the matches in IPL, betting was also done on the players, bowlers, balls, runs, sixes and fours. Information about taking and giving money was given by the main accused through WhatsApp messages. On the basis of which Vikas Soni used to charge Rs.
