Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Election Commission keeps experimenting something new during every election. This time a new experiment is being done. In this, taking the motto of right to equality, where there is duty of four in one booth, duty of two women and two men will be imposed. In this, someone will be presiding and someone will be polling officer number one.
Similarly, one officer posted in the booths is named as the presiding officer and the other three are named as polling officers numbered one, two and three. Now the number of women in this will be two. The number of such polling stations in Raigarh district is around three hundred, where two male and two female employees will do duty together. Raigarh assembly constituency has the maximum number of around 100 polling stations in this.
Fifty men and women will do duty together
Some polling stations in the Lok Sabha constituency have been marked as male-female mixed polling stations. In this, the number of such polling centers is 75 in Lailunga assembly, 100 in Raigarh assembly constituency, 75 in Kharsia assembly and 50 in Dharamjaygarh assembly constituency. Fifty men and women will do duty together in these centres. Their training is still going on.
There are about 113 booths in Raigarh Municipal Corporation area itself.
The special thing is that the team has not been formed yet, but training is being conducted simultaneously. In some booths there will be a female presiding officer and in others there will be a male presiding officer. Most of such booths in Raigarh Assembly are in urban areas. There are about 113 booths in Raigarh Municipal Corporation area itself, out of which 76 polling stations have been taken. Some booths in the remaining rural areas have been included. Eight booths have been taken in Kharsia urban area.
Will pick up confidential material together
In this, those who will be on duty in urban areas will get some relief, but those who will be on duty in villages may face some problems. Since the assembly of employees is changed during election duty. In such a situation, if the residents of Raigarh Assembly have to go to any village of Lailunga Assembly, then there will definitely be some problem. After reaching the booths, arrangements for separate accommodation are made by the Gram Panchayat in the polling station itself. Confidential material will be distributed for the elections on 6th May. We will have to pick up the stuff together that day.
