Chunnu Thakur Arrested: Muzaffarpur’s notorious Chunnu Thakur, wanted in more than three dozen cases, was arrested from the India-Nepal border on Sunday (07 April). During the search from his house, weapons, many documents and foreign currency were recovered, after which his wife was also taken into custody by the police. Chunnu Thakur’s supporters also created ruckus outside the SSP office after his wife was taken into custody.

Chunnu Thakur had a reward of three lakhs

Muzaffarpur’s top 10 criminal and a reward of Rs 3 lakh, Chunnu Thakur, has been caught in the joint action of Bihar STF, Bagaha and Muzaffarpur Police. There are more than three dozen cases against him of robbery, kidnapping and ransom. He was wanted in many cases outside the state and was absconding for almost seven years.

Wife also in police custody

According to the information, after interrogating the arrested accused, his house in Muzaffarpur was also raided, from where many important documents as well as bank passbook, ATM card and check book were recovered. The police have also detained the wife of accused Rakesh Kumar in this case. At present, Chunnu Thakur’s wife Kiran Vandana is being detained and interrogated in the weapons case.

Arrested from Raxaul border area

Regarding the arrest of the notorious, SSP Rakesh Kumar said that the Bihar STF team had received information that a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 3 lakh, who was included in the top 10 of Muzaffarpur, was hiding in the border area. After the information, in a joint operation of Bagaha Police, Muzaffarpur and Bihar STF, the notorious person was arrested from Raxaul border area.

Many documents including country made pistol recovered

According to SSP Rakesh Kumar, “The criminal’s house was also raided, from where various ATM cards, several check books, land papers, a country-made pistol, four bullets, bus challans, some jewellery, mobile and tab and many other items were recovered.” Have been done.”
