NMC Issued New Rules For MBBS: New rules have been implemented for medical students. The National Medical Council has drawn up these rules. Under this, the Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023 has been changed. Now MBBS students will have to complete it within nine years of enrolling in the course. Nine years will be counted from the day he gets admission. Along with this, the second big rule is that the first year of MBBS has to be completed in a maximum of four attempts i.e. four attempts. You won’t get more chances than this.
Counseling will be done after the declaration of result.
NMC has also said that admission to undergraduate courses in medical institutes will be done through common counseling after the release of NEET UG result 2023. This counseling will be done through the Medical Counseling Committee, MCC.
What is written in the new regulation
In the newly released GMER i.e. Graduate Medical Education Regulation, it is clearly stated that students will not be given more than four chances to pass the first year of MBBS i.e. (First Professional MBBS). Also, no student will be given more than nine years from the day of admission to complete the undergraduate medical course under any condition.

NMC also said that to get a medical degree in India or outside India, that is, to do MBBS, it is necessary for the candidates to pass the NEET UG exam. In the new regulations, NMC has made it clear that only the National Eligibility Entrance Test ie NEET UG exam will have to be passed. On the basis of this, admission will be given in India and countries outside it.
