Delhi Weather News: After the rain, bone-chilling cold has started in Delhi NCR. There is a huge drop in temperature in the morning and evening. The Meteorological Department says that during the next 5 to 6 days, the minimum temperature is likely to be between 9 to 11 degrees and the maximum temperature is likely to be between 15 to 22 degrees Celsius. At the same time, with the cold in Delhi, pollution is expected to increase once again.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday. The minimum temperature on Tuesday is expected to be 8 degrees and the maximum temperature will be 15 degrees. Cold wave with strong wind will continue as before. There is no sign of the fog reducing yet.
Lowest minimum temperature in Palam
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 10.3 degrees Celsius at 8:30 am on Monday, which is 3.5 degrees more than normal. The temperature in Palam area was 8.6 degrees. While the maximum temperature was recorded at 15 which is 5.4 degrees less than normal. There is no hope of getting relief from fog and cold in Delhi till January 5.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fog and dense fog at most places. The department said that the sky is likely to remain clear later, while there are chances of mist or fog in the evening and night.
AQI very bad in Alipore
According to Delhi Real Time Air Quality Index, AQI was recorded in poor category in most areas on Tuesday morning. The highest AQI recorded in Alipore was 319 which falls in the very poor category.
The air quality in Delhi was in the ‘moderate’ category at 178 at 9 am on Monday. According to Sameer App data, 10 centers recorded the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the poor category. Whereas in others it remained in the moderate category. At 4 pm on Sunday, the 24-hour AQI was 225, i.e. in the ‘poor’ category. According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity at 8:30 am on Monday was 87 percent.
AQI is rated between zero and 50 as ‘good’, 51 and 100 as ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 as ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 as ‘poor’, 301 and 400 as ‘very poor’ and 401 and 400 as ‘poor’. Anything between 500 is considered ‘severe’.
