Nepal created history by defeating UAE to qualify for Asia Cup for the first time

Asian Cup 2023: Nepal’s cricket team created history in the match played against United Arab Emirates. The Nepal team, captained by Rohit Paudel, has qualified for the Asia Cup for the first time. He achieved this feat by defeating the United Arab Emirates Union (UAE). Nepal defeated UAE by 7 wickets in the final of ACC Premier Cup played at Kirtipur. In this match, the team of Nepal was successful in achieving double success. Now the Nepal team will also participate in the Asia Cup to be played this year.

UAE limited to 117

Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl first in the ACC Premier Cup final played at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. The beginning of the United Arab Emirates, which came out to bat, was not good. The UAE team lost wickets at regular intervals. At one time, 6 wickets had fallen for 90 runs of the UAE team. Then it seemed that the United Arab Emirates team would not be able to cross even the 100-run mark. But due to Asif Karim’s innings of 46 runs, the team was able to cross the 100-run mark. The UAE team was all out for 117 runs in 33.1 overs. From Nepal, Laljit Rajbanshi took maximum 4 wickets.

Nepal won by 7 wickets

Nepal got a target of 118 runs to win the final of the ACC Premier Cup. The beginning of the Nepal team, which came to achieve the target, was not good. The team’s first wicket fell when the total score was 1 run. Kushal Bhurtel got out after scoring 1 run. Asif Sheikh also did not stay at the crease much and he kept walking after scoring 8 runs. Captain Rohit Paudel also disappointed, he could make only 1. But meanwhile, Gulshan Jha remained stuck at one end. He played an unbeaten inning of 67 runs. He got full support from middle order batsman Bhim Sharkey. Sharkey remained unbeaten after scoring 36 runs. Nepal completed the target of 118 runs in 30.3 overs to win. In this match, apart from winning the title, Nepal also qualified for the Asia Cup.
