President Ram Nath Kovind attended the 12th President’s Fleet Review program in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh today. Along with the President, the chiefs of the three armies were also present in this program. The President reviewed the Indian Naval Fleet consisting of more than 60 ships, submarines and 55 aircraft during the review programme.
The Chief of the three armies and the President were also honored with the Guard of Honor in the program, organized to show their strength and preparedness in the sea. Let us tell you that the 12th President’s Fleet Review has a special significance that it is being celebrated as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ across the country on the occasion of 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
Navy showed the trailer of maritime power
However, even before the President’s Fleet Review, the Indian Navy had started showing the trailer of its maritime power. On Friday, the Indian Navy released a video of the BrahMos missile launched from the indigenous warship, INS Visakhapatnam.
Organized ‘President Fleet Review’
Let us tell you that to show its strength and preparedness in the sea, the Indian Navy organized ‘President Fleet Review’ in Visakhapatnam today i.e. on 21 February. In this program, the President of the country and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ram Nath Kovind himself reviewed the capabilities of Navy and Coast Guard warships and fighter aircraft. A total of 63 warships, including INS Visakhapatnam, took part in this review. Apart from this, 50 fighter aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft and helicopters of the Navy and Coast Guard were also involved.
